St. Louis County Government, in partnership with the St. Louis County Library, is implementing the Recycled Reads program at four County Government locations. Recycled Reads circulates surplus library materials, encouraging people to read. The County Government locations will only have books and magazines for young people.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecycled Reads illustrates a key priority of my administration-investment in our youth,\u201d St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger said. \u201cResearch shows that reading at an early age is directly connected to improved performance in school. We look forward to kids and families from across the County participating in this educational program.\u201d<\/p>\n
No library card is required to borrow the Recycled Reads materials and there are no fines or due dates. Individuals are asked to return the items whenever they\u2019re finished to any St Louis County Recycled Reads or County Library site. If the child wishes to keep the book, he or she may do so.<\/p>\n
Recycled Reads St. Louis County Government locations include:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cRecycled Reads is a great way to bring library services to people outside of our library buildings and to meet people where they are,\u201d Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library Director said. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to partner with St. Louis County to expand the program so people who might not otherwise have time to read or visit a library can take advantage of this convenient service.\u201d<\/p>\n Recycled Read displays are currently set up at over 60 locations throughout St. Louis County including laundromats, hair\/nail salons, health care providers and auto care shops.
