New Miss Hazelwood Is Crowned<\/h1>\n

At Harvestfest\u2019s Coronation Event<\/h1>\n

The City of Hazelwood announced that Alyssa Hotze, age 16, a junior at Hazelwood West High School, is Miss Hazelwood 2016. She was crowned with this honor at the Miss Hazelwood Coronation held at the Hazelwood Harvestfest on Sept. 10 in Howdershell Park.<\/p>\n

Alyssa likes to swim and be around the pool. She is a member of HEAT, a year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n

Alyssa also coaches a disabled swim team every Sunday, teaches swim lessons through HEAT, and works as a lifeguard and teaches lessons at Hazelwood\u2019s White Birch Bay Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n

Her other activities include Girl Scouts for the past ten years. She also loves getting involved in community service, especially if it\u2019s volunteering with children or animals. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys reading, writing, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very excited about the opportunity to serve my community and to represent the City of Hazelwood. I look forward to all the events planned for the upcoming year,\u201d Hotze said.<\/p>\n

For being crowned as Miss Hazelwood, Alyssa was awarded a $1,000 scholarship and other nice prizes. She will be officially introduced at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, Sept 21.<\/p>\n
