The Dining Divas<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I got excited when we picked the location for our most recent Dining Divas. I\u2019d heard great things about Katie\u2019s Pizza and Pasta in Rock Hill, and since pizza and pasta are two of my most favorite things, I was really looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

Fortunately for us, I got a reservation because that night (a Wednesday night), the place was packed. So much so that people were dining on the patio, even with rather cool temps. Had we known the loudness of the restaurant and the impossibility of carrying on a conversation with the group, we may have joined them outside. We had so many topics to discuss, but we just never got to.<\/p>\n

Like so many restaurants these days, the exposed ceilings do nothing to absorb the sound. That was a consistent complaint, and probably the only complaint, at our table that night.<\/p>\n

Several of us tried the Burrata with Mixed Forest Mushrooms. Burrata is a fancier Italian fried cheese stick where fresh mozzarella makes up the outer portion and cream makes up the softer inner portion. The mushrooms served atop the cheese were the best she\u2019d ever had, according to the Italian Diva. Great choice!<\/p>\n

Another enjoyable small plate was the Neapolitan Meatballs served with San Marzano & Parmigiano cheese. Lots of flavor!<\/p>\n

For dinner, many of us chose pizza. The Margarita Pizza with olive oil and prosciutto pleased the Picky Diva. The meatballs on the Meatball Pizza were really good. A little more sauce and cheese on that one would probably have been better. The Non-Adventurous Divas enjoyed the Sausage Pizza. The Daring Diva tried the Fig and Squash Pizza and picked the best one. The sweetness from the figs blended well with all the other flavors, and she convinced herself it was a healthier pizza to enjoy it even more.<\/p>\n

The Dieting Divas were grateful they\u2019d split their pizza and Burrata. Now if only they\u2019d passed on the fresh bread. It\u2019s hard to pass up fresh, and that\u2019s what Katie\u2019s is all about. Fresh, palatable ingredients.<\/p>\n

Of the pastas, the Straw and Hay Tagliatelle was popular amongst our group. The basil-flavored noodles served with sausage, tomatoes, and ricotta had such a wonderful combination of flavors. The leftovers were even better the next day.<\/p>\n

I really can\u2019t tell you what the topics of conversations were that night because mostly I couldn\u2019t hear. But I can tell you one topic was our food, and those Divas at my end of the table really enjoyed Katie\u2019s. As a matter of fact, we\u2019re already going back!<\/p>\n
