Ferguson Brewing Company\u00a0<\/strong>\u2018Brewing up\u2019 For Reopening<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cThe Pumpkin will be ready,\u201dsaid a very excited Lizzie Lonero as we talked to her last week at Vincenzo\u2019s Restaurant, another restaurant they own along with Cork.<\/p>\n

Lizzie is the wife of Mike Lonero, who along with Mike\u2019s father Joe, has been arguably the main driving force in the renewal of the Ferguson downtown business and entertainment district for several years running. And what she was referring to was the Pumpkin Ale, a beer that has been a stalwart on the menu at The Ferguson Brewing Company for several years.<\/p>\n

This is good news for anyone who has been a fan of that brew, as well as the restaurant, which has been shuttered since a mid-summer fire destroyed the kitchen. They are fast making the necessary repairs to open very soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a lot of damage, mostly smoke<\/p>\n

and soot. Oh, it was everywhere, on everything. The fire smoldered overnight, so the damage was all the way upstairs as well. We had to replace or clean every inch of the place. By some miracle, the brewing area was not damaged and we were able to still brew beer,\u201d said Lizzie.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we are really happy that the<\/p>\n

Pumpkin will be ready!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Hutch, bar manager, is equally<\/p>\n

thrilled, and for other reasons as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had to replace most of the furnishings, dropped the ceiling on the first floor, restored the second floor, added light fixtures,\u201d he said, adding that the kitchen is completely different.<\/p>\n

Across South Florissant from The<\/p>\n

Ferguson Brewing Company, Jackie Mafuli of Cose Dolci Bakery is also looking forward to the reopening \u201cWe miss the business generated by walk-ins from the customers who visit the restaurant. It\u2019s great that they are going to come back soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

There has not been an announced date for reopening, but Hutch said they are very close, perhaps next week. So get ready, everyone. As Lizzie Lonero says, \u201cthe Pumpkin will be ready\u201d and available at Ferguson Brewing Co, as well as the other Ferguson restaurants in the S. Florissant Road business district.<\/p>\n
