Celebrating the history, culture, and people of Japan, the Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the largest and oldest festivals of its kind in the United States.<\/p>\n
Since 1977, the Missouri Botanical Garden has produced the annual Japanese Festival in conjunction with the Japanese Activities Committee, a coalition of several Japanese-American organizations that provide art, dance, food and entertainment for thousands of visitors each year.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s festival will run from Saturday, Sept. 5, through Monday, Sept. 7. Festival hours on Saturday and Sunday will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., although the grounds will open at 9 a.m. and remain open until 10 p.m. for candlelight walks. Due to festival scheduling, there will be no Saturday morning walking hours on Sept. 5.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Labor Day, the festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
Admission is $15 for those age 13 and older, $5 for children age 3 to 12 years, and $5 for Garden members. Garden member children age 3 to 12 are free. Regular admission rates also apply for the Doris I. Schnuck Children Garden.<\/p>\n
