The first cardiac hybrid procedure at Christian Hospital was performed Thursday, July 30, in the new $5.5 million hybrid room, the only one of its kind in North County and among only 2 percent in hospitals nationwide.<\/p>\n
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 10 to officially recognize the opening of the hybrid room.<\/p>\n
The hybrid room is equipped with advanced medical imaging technology and combines\u00a0the procedures of a cardiac catheter lab, such as placement and correction of pacemakers, with the features\u00a0and capabilities of a surgery room when more complex surgical treatment is required.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hybrid room allows Christian Hospital to provide high-tech, cutting-edge procedures,\u201d Nabil Munfakh, MD, medical director of cardiothoracic surgery at Christian Hospital. \u201cAll is headed toward minimally invasive application and the hybrid room is at the forefront of cardiology.\u201d<\/p>\n
