The Ferguson-Florissant School District Board of Education has approved David Arledge and Courtney Ford as assistant principals of McCluer High School and Walter Collie as assistant principal of McCluer North High School for the 2015-16 academic year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pleased to add individuals with such strong educational credentials to leadership roles at McCluer High School and at McCluer North High School for the 2015-16 academic year,\u201d said Lawrence W. Larrew, acting superintendent of the Ferguson-Florissant School District.\u00a0 \u201cEach of these educators has a proven track record in providing direction and guidance that we believe will greatly benefit our students.\u201d<\/p>\n
Arledge\u00a0previously served as assistant principal at\u00a0Riverview\u00a0Gardens High School and also taught English language arts at\u00a0Riverview\u00a0Gardens High School as well as at schools in\u00a0Las\u00a0Vegas.\u00a0 He\u00a0has a bachelor’s degree in English Education, a master\u2019s degree in Educational Administration and Principal Certification in grades 7-12.\u00a0 His areas of expertise include\u00a0professional learning communities (PLCs), alternative educational programming and depth of knowledge (DOK).\u00a0 He received the Teacher of the Year award at\u00a0Riverview\u00a0Gardens High School and has earned the \u201c30 Leaders in Their 30s\u201d award from North County, Inc.<\/p>\n
Ford served as interim assistant principal at\u00a0McCluer\u00a0and has also taught sixth grade in the Ferguson-Florissant School District at Johnson-Wabash Elementary School.\u00a0 He holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Central Missouri and a master’s degree in Education from\u00a0Lindenwood\u00a0University.\u00a0In addition, he is K-12 certified in administration.\u00a0 Ford\u2019s experience includes expertise in the areas of\u00a0Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS), Teach Like a Champion and data analysis.<\/p>\n
Collie previously served as assistant principal at Imagine Environmental Science and Mathematics, as principal at Imagine Academy of Careers Middle School, and as assistant principal at Central Middle School in Riverview Gardens.\u00a0 He\u00a0holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Harris-Stowe State University, plus a master\u2019s degree in Educational Administration and an educational specialist degree from Missouri Baptist University. Collie\u00a0brings with him a wealth of expertise in\u00a0school improvement and in increasing the success rate of students.<\/p>\n
