A Boomer’s Journal<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

\"Tom<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 A quick review of recent columns seems to show<\/p>\n

That my tone\u2019s been kinda serious \u2018bout stuff, ya know.<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s my humble effort to change up these things<\/p>\n

As I bring to you a TwentyFifteen Rap to Spring.<\/p>\n

If perhaps your favorite color just might be green<\/p>\n

Then you\u2019re sure enjoying everything that can be seen,<\/p>\n

With trees and grass and dandelions busting out<\/p>\n

So vibrantly it makes this old guy wanna shout.<\/p>\n

But with that noisy bursting comes a dev\u2019lish dust<\/p>\n

That infiltrates the nostrils, creates a brown rust<\/p>\n

On ev\u2019ry single nose hair that I still possess<\/p>\n

After sneezes rock the room with calls of \u201cWow\u2026God Bless.\u201d<\/p>\n

But we here in The Lou have some healthy distractions,<\/p>\n

What with Cardinal baseball and the Blues still in action.<\/p>\n

The skater dudes are once again The Playoff Buds,<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s hope they aren\u2019t once again The Playoff Duds.<\/p>\n

Now Redbird Fever matches the fever called \u201cHay,\u201d<\/p>\n

Both bringing out the tears, but in a different way.<\/p>\n

The Clydesdales and players hear the rabid fans\u2019 hollas,<\/p>\n

Anheuser beers a-flowin\u2019 … yeah, for \u2018leven dolla\u2019s!<\/p>\n

Which is why I won\u2019t be spending my limited funds<\/p>\n

Watching a bunch of millionaires drive in runs.<\/p>\n

The game at this level is a financial shame,<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll spend my time and money at the grandkid\u2019s game<\/p>\n

Or on the golf course\u2026 yeah, here I go once more<\/p>\n

Musing \u2018\u2019bout a game that I used to abhor,<\/p>\n

But now the fairway\u2019s calling to my inner bard<\/p>\n

Hoping soon I\u2019m scrawlin\u2019 \u201880\u2019 on my card.<\/p>\n

First Communions abound, boys and girls dressed so fine<\/p>\n

As they gather to partake of the bread and wine,<\/p>\n

That mysteriously takes on a new identity<\/p>\n

To pave the Little\u2019s way as they seek eternity.<\/p>\n

Add graduations to this list of Spring\u2019s displays<\/p>\n

Not to mention teacher\u2019s anticipating end-of-days,<\/p>\n

But not before the fun and games we call state testing\u2026<\/p>\n

Gotta get through that mess before summer resting.<\/p>\n

Spring\u2019s song is a crazy one we\u2019re privileged to sing,<\/p>\n

So take the time to savor all the joy it brings.<\/p>\n

New sun and trees and flowers, perhaps a new direction\u2026<\/p>\n

Achoo\u2026<\/p>\n

Think I\u2019m getting me a sinus infection.<\/p>\n
