Florissant Adds\u00a0<\/strong>A Few Items to Final Budget<\/strong><\/p>\n

The proposed Florissant 2015 budget, which totals $33,001,099, is set to take effect on Dec. 1, with final approval from the city council likely at next week\u2019s city council meeting on Nov. 10.<\/p>\n

A few more expenditures have been added to the budget in several different funding accounts. They include:<\/p>\n

The Property Revitalization Fund proposed at $195,000 will add funds to install security cameras at city hall and government buildings. Allocated funds will also be added to the budget to repair steps in the rear of City Hall.<\/p>\n

The Park Improvement Fund based at $3,490,334 will be adding additional part-time reserve police officers to be used primarily in the city parks.<\/p>\n

The City Council voted to retain police cars being taken out of service to be used by other city departments, Vehicles were to be traded in or sold. The changes will be added to the Capital Improvement plan proposed budget of $3,269,175.<\/p>\n

The biggest funding source, which is the General Fund set \u00a0at $25,248,682, will add two additional funding details to the budget. One of the details involves restoring the creative dramatics workshops and arts assembly to the summer playground program.<\/p>\n

The other change deals with overnight lodging. The City Council voted to pay the<\/p>\n

registration fee plus two nights lodging at the Missouri standard per diem rate for out-of-state travel for selected department heads. All out-of-state travel except for the police department had been removed from the original budget.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019 s fiscal year runs Dec. 1-Nov. 30.<\/p>\n
