Ferguson residents are offering a \u201cPumpkin Walk\u201d for area children celebrating
\nHalloween. The event was created to offer a safe trick-or-treat activity
\namid the ongoing unrest in Ferguson. It will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26.<\/p>\n
Dozens of homeowners in the Old Ferguson East neighborhood have placed \u201cOpen
\nfor Halloween\u201d signs on their lawns to welcome local children. The signs
\nwere generously donated by Scott Newger, president of Ferguson-based
\nNewger Materials. The new CVS store in Florissant donated $5000 worth of
\ncandy for homeowners to distribute to trick-or-treaters on the Pumpkin
\nWalk.<\/p>\n
Two Ferguson trolleys will pick up children at the leasing offices of Canfield
\nGreen, Northwinds, Oakmont and Versailles Apartments starting at 12:45pm
\nand take them to the Old Ferguson East Neighborhood where volunteers
\nwill escort groups on the Pumpkin Walk. Families are welcome to take
\nchildren to participating homes on their own during the event, or they
\ncan join groups walking together.<\/p>\n
All Ferguson families are invited to participate. Children under 18 must be
\naccompanied by an adult. For more details on trolley times and meeting
