The Florissant City Council held a public hearing at the last meeting regarding the Burger King at 3121 N. Highway 67.\u00a0 The restaurant needs a special use permit.<\/p>\n
The restaurant is in an area that was annexed in to the city. James Brinkmeyer, the restaurant owner, explained to the council that the restaurant was grandfathered in without the permit when the annexations took place. When he bought the restaurant from the previous owner, he realized he had to get the permit through the city. The operation of the restaurant will not change. No one spoke in opposition at the hearing and the council passed an ordinance approving the special permit.<\/p>\n
In other action,<\/b> the council approved a request for a beer and wine licenses by Dooley\u2019s Florist and Gifts, and\u00a0passed a resolution requesting that the United States Congress transfer authority for the re-mediation of the West Lake Landfill for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the Army Corps of Engineers Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP).<\/p>\n
