For all you city slickers and suburban sophisticates who haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t been to Branson lately, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re in for some big surprises. It hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t been just an Ozark country music town for some time now. Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just a sampling of the variety of the newer shows on the Branson scene.<\/p>\n

The Legends in Concert is similar to Las Vegas shows offering music tributes to top stars such as Liza Mineilli, Whitney Houston, the Blues Brothers, Buddy Holly, Garth Brooks and Elvis. These are the real-deal impersonators.<\/p>\n

The Liverpool Legends at the Caravella Theatre has been described as the ultimate Beatles experience. Starting with the early Beatles, the magical mystery tour continues through the many musical styles and changes of John, Paul, Ringo and George. One of the promoters of this group is George\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sister who is at the show many nights to sign autographs and talk about “the boys,” as she calls them. Dick Clark\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s American Bandstand Theatre brings back the originals including Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, the energetic showman Paul Revere and some of his original Raiders, The Comets of Bill Haley\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 1950s rock originals, Fabian, Bobby Vee , Chris Montez and the Chiffons. Some appear on a rotating basis, but Bill Medley and Paul Revere and the Raiders are there nearly year-round. Paul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s son fills in the Bobby Hatfield role singing with Bill Medley on many of the Righteous Brothers greatest hits. While at the theater, be sure to drop in downstairs for the \u00e2\u20ac\u212257 Heaven Museum of mint-condition 1957 automobiles, plus a recreation of a 1950s\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 small town.<\/p>\n

Broadway! The Star Spangled Celebration has brought together a dozen or so talented cast members offering musical selections from the Great White Way, or perhaps the Muny and Fox Theater may be more appropriate. In fact, the show is similar to the Muny Summer Salute productions. This show runs ten months a year at the Branson Variety Theatre. The Twelve Irish Tenors is a relatively new show, but fast becoming one of the most popular in Branson. Their stylist renditions of everything form Irish folk music, to pop and jazz wows the crowd daily at the Branson Variety Theater.
