Tea and Talk Hosts Discussion on the Florissant Area During the American Civil War"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   Historic Florissant\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s bi-monthly meeting of &#8220;Tea and Talk&#8221; will held Sunday, June 8 and 22  from 1- 3 at the Franz Gittemeier House, 1067 Dunn Road. The program will discuss the impact the Civil War had on the families of North St. Louis County.  Mr. and Mrs. Chester Tesson will be the featured guests for both afternoons and will help lead the discussions along with Mrs. Kay Spring of HFI. <\/p>\n<p>     Mr. and Mrs. Tesson are the former owners of the boyhood home of Major James Utz.  This historic home has been moved from its original location on Utz Lane to Brooks Park at I-270 and North Lindbergh Blvd.  Major Utz was one of many &#8220;Rebel Sympathizers&#8221; in North County and was executed at the Gratiot Street Prison on December 26, 1864.<\/p>\n<p>     Historic Florissant\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s round-table discussions will continue through November as part of their year long celebration of 50 years of Historic Preservation in the city of Florissant.<\/p>\n<p>     Admission is free but reservations are recommended.
