{"id":11558,"date":"2013-11-20T13:06:09","date_gmt":"2013-11-20T19:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flovalleynews.com\/?p=11558"},"modified":"2013-11-20T13:06:09","modified_gmt":"2013-11-20T19:06:09","slug":"build-a-bear-founder-maxine-clark-visits-jennings-college-prep-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flovalleynews.com\/?p=11558","title":{"rendered":"Build-A-Bear Founder Maxine Clark Visits Jennings College Prep Academy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Build-A-Bear Founder and CEO, Maxine Clark recently visited Ellery Clark\u2019s\u00a0Entrepreneurship class at the Jennings College Prep Academy with a message.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>She inspired students and\u00a0 shared how their imagination was the beginning of creating a dream.\u00a0 Students asked questions about her life and asked her advice about careers.\u00a0 Mrs. Clark shared how inspirational teachers were for her and she talked about the importance of giving back and\u00a0 serving others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ellery Clark began teaching the new\u00a0 Entrepreneurship class this semester to 7th and 8th\u00a0 graders in the College Prep Academy.\u00a0 He\u00a0 highlights one person each week and has his\u00a0 students study that person\u2019s life.\u00a0 Clark\u00a0 expects his students to come prepared to learn, and wants them to be motivated by\u00a0 the lives of others so they can also achieve their dreams.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>After listening to Mrs.Clark, Principal Melba Davis said, \u201cStudents left inspired, filled with lessons about\u00a0 business, hard work, and life.\u201d\u00a0 Mrs. Clark reminded students that they should never give\u00a0 up, and she encouraged the students to follow their dreams.<\/p>\n<p>Several students had their own Build-A-Bears as they listened and took photos with Mrs.\u00a0 Clark at the end of the class.\u00a0 \u201cMrs. Maxine Clark\u2019s dedication to education is amazing, and\u00a0 her genuine concern for students and their success in life is obvious as she talked about\u00a0 ways for students to excel,\u201d said Supt.
