Join Lindenwood University\u2019s Historic\u00a0Daniel Boone Home and Heritage Center as it celebrates the holiday season with its Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour on Dec. 6,7, 13, and 14.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This year, the Boone Home is\u00a0implementing a new and improved approach to the Christmas Candlelight Tours. Previously, the event was entirely guided. However, this year’s Christmas Candlelight Tours will begin with a guided tour of the Boone Home followed by a self-guided walk through the village.\u00a0 After first visiting the Boone Home, guests are free to visit and enjoy the various stations around the village at their own pace.<\/p>\n

The annual Candlelight Tour will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. with the first tour starting at 6 p.m. Regular admission is $15 for adults and $10 for\u00a0 children (age 4-11), however advanced tickets are being sold now through December 2, 2013 for $13 for adults and $8 for children (age 4-11.) Children age 3 and under are free.<\/p>\n

Step back in time to the year 1819. The people in town are preparing for Christmas as their family traditions have taught them. Visitors to the Boone Home are able to glimpse back in time to witness Christmas as it was in the past.\u00a0 As they make their way through the candlelit village, they will see the traditions of different cultures and see how the special holiday was celebrated on the frontier.<\/p>\n

Artisans, musicians, and town folk\u00a0\u00a0populate the village singing carols and playing\u00a0favorite Christmas tunes. Wassail and cookies will be served to all guests.<\/p>\n

Located at 1868 Highway F in Defiance, MO, the Daniel Boone Home is the house in which the legendary explorer and frontiersman spent his final years. The four-story Georgian-style home was built overlooking the Femme Osage Valley. The adjoining village contains over a dozen other 19th century buildings from the local area and is used to represent an early American frontier town.<\/p>\n
