Jennings School District Still Accredited<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennings School District is accredited.\u00a0 A\u00a0story on the Jennigns District in the Aug. 29th<\/sup> issue of The Independent News<\/em> mistakenly stated that the district was un-accredited. The district\u2019s goal is to become accredited with distinction.\u00a0\u00a0 Jackie Joyner-Kersee attended the Back-2-School Jamboree to celebrate the district\u2019s high performance and to encourage students to continue to have a healthy attitude.<\/p>\n

Jackie Kersee also celebrated the final\u00a0phases of construction of Jennings School District\u2019s new turf football stadium and eight-lane track which will allow them to sponsor track meets in North County.\u00a0 This will be the district\u2019s first eight-lane track, and Jennings will be one of the only districts with a turf football field.\u00a0\u00a0 In addition to the stadium, Jennings Senior High School is adding a tennis court, they have opened a swimming pool and a dance studio for the performing arts is underway.<\/p>\n

Jennings Supt\u00a0 Tiffany Anderson said, \u201cWe want our student athletes to have a competitive edge as they prepare for college sports.\u00a0 Schools are the center of the community, and the district is working to provide as many resources as possible to the North County community.<\/p>\n

The turf field will be available for rental to other schools and organizations during the football season when it\u2019s not being used by the district to allow the entire community to have an opportunity to access the field, track and other facilities in the district.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
