To Honor Companies, Individuals at Annual Breakfast May 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>(Special to the Independent News) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>North County Incorporated (NCI) has announced the annual Business\u00a0 Development, Community Development, Elmer Belsha Leadership, and Public Service\u00a0 recipients.\u00a0 The 2013 award recipients will be honored at NCI\u2019s 36th\u00a0 annual breakfast on Friday, May 10, at 7:30 a.m. at the Renaissance St. Louis\u00a0 Airport Hotel.\u00a0 This year\u2019s presenting sponsors are HDR Engineering, Progressive\u00a0 Waste Solutions and SSM DePaul Health Center.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Tickets are $37.50 per person.\u00a0 Generous sponsorship packages are still\u00a0 available.\u00a0 Reservations are required;\u00a0 call NCI at 895-6241 or go to www.NorthStLouisCounty.com.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NCI\u2019s Business Development Awards<\/strong> are presented to those whose efforts positively\u00a0 affect the economic development and business climate of the North County area.\u00a0 On May 10,\u00a0 NCI will honor National Retail Properties, Inc. for the\u00a0 redevelopment of the property that previously\u00a0 housed a Value City store\u00a0 along Lindbergh in\u00a0 Florissant, next to Target.<\/p>\n<p>The second NCI Business Development Award recipient will\u00a0 be World Wide Technologies, Inc. for their recent investment in real estate and\u00a0 personal property, expansion and job creation in North County.<\/p>\n<p>NCI\u2019s Community Development Awards are presented to those whose efforts\u00a0 positively benefit youth, residents, civic organizations, or others through selfless acts.\u00a0 The Citizens for Advancement of Normandy and the St. Louis County Nuisance\u00a0 Property Clean-Up Initiative were chosen for this award.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kim Bakker,<\/strong> network director of Community Affairs, SSM Health Care \u2013 St. Louis and a past chairman of the board of NCI will receive the prestigious Elmer Belsha\u00a0 Leadership Award, which is presented annually to an individual whose\u00a0 long-term commitment to NCI and the North County region has had a positive impact on the area and\/or public body that they serve.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Service Awards<\/strong> will be presented to outstanding individuals, elected,\u00a0 appointed, or employed by a public body whose long-time service has had a positive impact on the community and\/or public body they serve.\u00a0 Dr. George Albin III, retired board Member of the Ritenour School District; St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley; Dwayne James, councilman from the\u00a0 City of Ferguson; and Rosemary Johnson, president of the\u00a0 Jennings School District Board of Education will be this year\u2019s Public Service\u00a0 Award recipients.<\/p>\n<p>North County Incorporated is a regional development organization, which acts as a\u00a0catalyst to define and advocate economic and community development for North St. Louis County.
