{"id":10120,"date":"2013-04-03T12:41:33","date_gmt":"2013-04-03T18:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flovalleynews.com\/?p=10120"},"modified":"2013-04-03T12:41:33","modified_gmt":"2013-04-03T18:41:33","slug":"the-dining-divas-feast-in-the-way-out-west-county-of-circle-7-ranch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flovalleynews.com\/?p=10120","title":{"rendered":"The Dining Divas Feast in the Way Out West (County) of Circle 7 Ranch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flovalleynews.com\/the-dining-divas-feast-in-the-way-out-west-county-of-circle-7-ranch\/lisa-kampeter-photo-revised-16\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10121\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-10121 lazyload\" title=\"**Lisa Kampeter photo** revised\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flovalleynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Lisa-Kampeter-photo-revised-121x150.jpg?resize=121%2C150\" alt=\"\" width=\"121\" height=\"150\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 121px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 121\/150;\" \/><\/a>The Dining Divas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Lisa Kampeter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As I planned to head out to Circle 7 Ranch, I wondered, \u201cWould boots and a cowboy hat be appropriate?\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m always looking for an excuse to wear boots and a cowboy hat, but I reminded myself I wasn\u2019t heading to a country concert or Texas for that matter.\u00a0 I was heading to dinner in Ballwin.\u00a0 The boots and cowboy hat would have to wait for another time.<\/p>\n<p>The Dining Divas headed west to Circle 7 Ranch located near 141 and Clayton Road for March\u2019s Divas dinner.\u00a0 This night, a Thursday night, the parking lot was filled.\u00a0 I can\u2019t imagine how it is on weekends.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant accommodated us.\u00a0 They have one side room for large groups; otherwise, they don\u2019t take reservations.\u00a0 The room was already booked, but they reserved us a table in the bar area.\u00a0 Circle 7 Ranch is more than a sports bar.\u00a0 It\u2019s warm and cozy atmosphere makes you want to belly right on up and hang out.<\/p>\n<p>They call themselves the \u201chome of table tap technology\u201d meaning they have personal table taps at many of their tables.\u00a0 Ours did not have one, but we sure did enjoy watching the number of ounces rise at the table next to ours.\u00a0 I wanted to climb under the table to check out how the tappers were rigged but refrained from doing it.\u00a0 My attire not only didn\u2019t include my boots and cowboy hat but more importantly jeans.<\/p>\n<p>From \u201chello\u201d or \u201chowdy\u201d, we discovered having conversations was going to be limiting and difficult.\u00a0 We literally had to yell to be able to talk to people at our table.\u00a0 After asking a waitress why it was so loud, she said it was because there were several large groups there that night.\u00a0 I wondered if it would be any better any other night.<\/p>\n<p>We had a couple months of catching up to do.\u00a0 Our Painting Divas last month limited our chatter.\u00a0 This would be the Short-timer Divas last time with us as she and her family are moving to California.\u00a0 And another Short-timer Diva, this one at her job, had given her notice at her current place of employment.\u00a0 We were happy to have two new Divas as well as a visiting Diva join us.\u00a0 Aside from getting to know them better, it meant more food on the table that we could all sample.\u00a0 And sample we did.<\/p>\n<p>Smoked Brisket Nachos.\u00a0 Eight Layer Buffalo Chicken Dip.\u00a0 Pretzel Sticks.\u00a0 Yum!\u00a0 So many great options to start off your meal.\u00a0 You\u2019re doing yourself a disservice if you don\u2019t graze as much as possible because you\u2019re watching your diet.\u00a0 Look at the great cowboys of the day.\u00a0 John Wayne.\u00a0 Clint Eastwood.\u00a0 William Holden.\u00a0 Cowboy food didn\u2019t seem to hurt them.<\/p>\n<p>Wanting to try out as much as possible, many of us paired up and shared.\u00a0 Sloppy Joe Sandwich and Jack Your Mac. The secret mix in the sloppy joes shouldn\u2019t be a secret!\u00a0 Circle 7\u2019s mac and cheese lets you get creative, and the BBQ beef brisket combination made this Diva happy there were leftovers.\u00a0 We could have also chosen hamburger, blackened chicken, barbecue pulled pork, black bean corn salsa, and buffalo chicken.<\/p>\n<p>The Circle 7 branding on the hamburger buns added a nice touch.\u00a0 If you want to make yourself feel better, go ahead and choose one of the many salads.\u00a0 They\u2019re big enough to share.\u00a0 The chicken in the wraps was seasoned perfectly and good enough to eat on its own.\u00a0 Lots of barbecue choices.\u00a0 Lots of burger options.\u00a0 Lots of sandwiches.\u00a0 And it was all priced well.\u00a0 But be careful of the up-charges.\u00a0 Fries accompany many of the sandwiches, but if you choose another side in place of the fries, plan on paying for it.<\/p>\n<p>Pairing up meant we had room for dessert.\u00a0 The Apple Dumplings a la mode with a caramel sauce reminded me why dessert should always be served with dinner.\u00a0 It reminds you of the good ol\u2019 days.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be deceived by the Cookie Jar.\u00a0 It\u2019s a fresh from the oven cookie baked in an iron skillet and served with Hershey\u2019s syrup on top.\u00a0 It sounded better than it was.\u00a0 Grandma would have done better.\u00a0 Actually I probably could have done better.<\/p>\n<p>No one-timers here with Circle 7 Ranch.\u00a0 There are too many more items on the menu to try out.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be sorry if you don\u2019t
